Houses
At New Leake Primary School we use a house point system to encourage healthy competition and group loyalty among pupils. Using a house point system has been shown to have a positive impact on motivation and behaviour, as well as encouraging a sense of identity and belonging.
We will appoint house captains at the beginning of each academic year. These captains will be appointed from the year 6 cohort.
Each child is allocated to a house when they join our school and children can earn house points for a variety of reasons including: good work, behaviour, participation, completing homework etc...
Houses will also have competitions throughout the year and a running total of points will be shared in our weekly celebration assemblies a long with the child who has earned the most house points for that week.
