Music
Curriculum Intent:
We provide opportunities for all children to create, play, perform and enjoy music, to develop the skills to appreciate a wide variety of musical forms, and to begin to make judgements about the quality of music.
All children in Class 2 and Class 3 will have the opportunity to learn a musical instrument for at least two terms each academic year. At New Leake Primary, these instruments include: recorder and ukulele. We have a Specialist Music Teacher from the Lincolnshire Music Service to teach years 2-6. Listening, singing and rhythm is also a key aspect of each music lesson.
If your child is interested in having individual instrument tuition, please speak to Mrs Crunkhorn in the school office. Mrs Sharpe teaches lessons on a Monday and a Tuesday afternoon each week.
Our children take pride in singing and we join together to sing in our whole school assemblies and services at our local Church. We welcome the children to play their instrument in assemblies and feel it is brilliant opportunity to share their progress and success as well as provide an encouraging audience for the pupils to perform to.
